Annual Charity Event & Catch Reports.

It’s been a very busy week here at White Springs and the fishing has been pretty good with the weather getting cooler.

The Pirates on Tuesday were on the New Canal;

1st peg 17 Rob White 129lb 1oz.

2nd peg 8 Alan Godrich 79lb 13oz.

3rd Gordon Furlong 78lb 14oz.

Wednesdays White Springs open was on the New Canal;

1st peg 27 Alan Godrich 140lb 14oz.

2nd peg 19 Rob White 110lb 13oz.

3rd peg 2 Neil Davies 96lb 13oz.

Glamorgan Angling were on the Match Lake on Sunday;

1st peg 14 Dean Jay 105lb 3oz.

2nd peg 9 Steve Cother 77lb 13oz.

3rd peg 13 Russ Palmer 71lb 3oz.

White Springs open was on the New Canal on Sunday.

1st peg 23 Scott Thomas 177lb 5oz.

2nd peg 29 Dan Bowen 115lb 6oz.

3rd peg 20 Chris Wells 111lb 12oz.

The Pleasure Lake has been fishing very well with most anglers catching fish all day including young Chris Aston with 28 fish.


On the Big Pit Garin Grace Rossiter had a good 24 hours catching 20 fish.

On the Specimen Lake this weekend was our annual charity 48hr competition for children’s cancer and cystic fibrosis.

We had great support again this year with 2 anglers on every peg filling the lake to capacity.

1st on Jadens (peg 1) was Morgan Thomas Jones and Owen Watkins, with 6 fish, their biggest 26lb 4oz.

2nd on the Soil Shed (peg 4) was Graeme Andrews and Martin Mathews with 5 fish.

3rd on peg 8 was Ryan Donahoe and Nick Parker with 3 fish including 28lb + 24lb.

Peter Thorne on peg 7 had the biggest fish at 31lb.

Everybody had sponsorship forms and all collected very well collecting nearly £2000. Thank you to Brian Hodder, all sponsors, Nash Tackle, Korda, Sascha Dicks plumbing, CR Baits, White Springs fishery for donating prizes for our raffle.

The total so far raised is over £4700, so out best amount again.
