What a difference a week can make, last weekend was very warm, that brought the fish on to spawn with the obvious quiet spell ensuing.
With the change of weather mid-week, the fish have come back on the feed.
So much so, we have had three 30lbs+ carp out of the specimen pool.
One was caught by Jack Lloyd on peg 13, at 32lb 5oz mirror.
Earne Lovering on peg 5, had a 31lb 5oz mirror.
Kris Avons on peg 9 (the Island) took a 31lb 8oz mirror from the margins.
Gavin Wellington also managed a few nights and took a fish known as two tone at 20lb 8oz.
Over on the Pit, Kate Micheal and her father had a great time bagging lots of fish including a 17lb common.
On the pleasure side two visiting anglers from Hereford reported their best day fishing in a long time on the new canal -
catching carp, bream and golden tench. One nice green tench of 5/6lbs, bream and carp to 5lbs+. They were fishing of peg 7 - 11.
On the pleasure lake, Tom Davies beat the lake record with a 24lbs mirror using luncheon meat over pellets.
An excellent week in all.
